How to Maintain Brick Pavers  

Brick Pavers are beautiful additions to most homes, they can be designed to work any area that includes driveways, patios, and walkways. To protect them against the elements, you will need to maintain them on a regular basis.

How To Seal Brick Pavers

  1. Clean them first with a pressure washer. If necessary remove the old paver sealer and then use a paver cleaner to tackle tough stains and spills.

  1. Wait a couple of days, and check to see if any repairs need doing.

  1. Sweep in the sand between the joints

  1. Remove any excess sand, it is important your sand is just below the paver edge.

  1. Using your sealer and apply following the manufacturer’s directions and spread rate. This can be done with a pump sprayer or a roller. If you use the latter, make sure you do not remove the sand from the joints accidentally.

How To Maintain Brick Paver Sealers

Even though sealers do dull and lose their luster with age, they will still “seal” the surface for several years. Use these tips to extend the life and look of your paver sealer.

  1. Seal with a good quality solvent-based sealer

  1. Apply it every 12-18 months. This will reset the existing sealer, making it look new again.

  1. Reapply the sealer every 2-3 years or when deemed necessary
